Lesley Wood and the the team at Signs publishing in Warburton Victoria have become a heartsafe workplace by buying an AED and Defibrillator awareness training from the team here at International Paramedic College Australia. Learning how to use a defibrillator is just as important as buying an AED, it takes the fear out of using it and training and understanding how an AED works helps reduce the all important “time to first shock” which we believe is one of the “7 reasons every workplace should buy an AED”
We did a zoom training session and despite us all being new to the technology and a few technical hitches we were able to demonstrate what an AED is, what it can do and how use a defibrillator in an emergency. It does not replace CPR training but it does show the team at Signs Publishing in Warburton how to use the Lifepak CR2 fully Automatic AED we recommended to them.They wanted an AED for their workplace that was easy to use.
The success rate of CPR and early defibrillation is important. Effective CPR and a shock from a defibrillator can make all the difference in a cardiac event. We hope they never have to use it.
